This painting on hahnemulhe etching paper (37 x 28 cm) with acrylic, Indian ink and oil pastel was partly inspired after watching Jane Eyre.

I loved the moodiness and the tension not only of the characters but also the setting and the landscape and I think it rubbed off in a few of my pieces on paper. This being one of them.

‘To wish was to hope’ is a line from the film and it reflected my own thinking on that day.
